Nope. Each little layer will melt less until it doesn't. If the ground underneath is warm then there will be ice under the snow. It has to be snowing a pretty good clip though.

Fired up the generator, filled the gas cans, bought some provisions for my spicy beef stew and chili, plenty of meat in the freezer, plenty of cans in the pantry and replenished my supply of Jefferson's Burbon....We are good to go.....

300 pounds of rock salt for the drive, not that the roads will be passable! I'll be able to gat up the drive.

I figure if I can't drink it I can use it to start fires.

It’s doing what they thought. Over 2” here in MO already and they said it’d start snow at 01:00. Keep safe and warm yaall

It's funny to watch both kinds. You got the unprepared that rush to the store and get a few things hoping everything will be OK. Then you have the prepared that are hoping for it to hit like a hammer so we can feel pretty good about our preps. I wouldn't mind losing power for a few days to test my preparation and work on my skills.

Honestly I didn't think anything about it. Went to ingles about daybreak (I like their breakfast bar ) and I picked up a few things and the place was packed.
We're way south of what I'd consider the danger zone but I guess people are freaking out none the less.
If you can't handle a little ice and snow then you're going to be ****ed when things really go south...which is going to happen.
