What I mean is Government is a fiction, a creation of the mind, Law comes from the same place, even if it is born
within the first creation, Government.

You can accuse me of being overly optimistic...but I doubt the "real" vote was that close. There are undoubtedly some of those 46 who genuinely support the treat, but I would doubt that there was a single senator from either side who thought it would actually pass. I would guess that the majority of those 46 were pandering to their base, knowing it would never happen. If they actually thought they might be held accountable for their vote, it would have gone down in spectacular fashion.
you know what else is a creation of the mind? What I mean is Government is a fiction, a creation of the mind, Law comes from the same place, even if it is born

you know what else is a creation of the mind?

no treaty can override the constitution so its mostly meaningless
That is a subject of debate.
-Just a year or two ago, no reasonable person would ever have thought that the supreme court would allow complete economic takeover of the healthcare system-and compel each and every legal citizen to engage in a particular contract for a service. (Even if they don't wish to.)
-A few years ago, we would never have thought that something like the NSA could spy on everything that every single one of us does electronically (4th amendment.)
-Ten years ago, there were no such things as warrantless wiretaps, FISA courts, etc.
The constitution is a "living, breathing document" to liberals. They don't care what the intent behind it was. They don't care what it actually says. They just want to bend it to suit their needs.
I wouldn't put anything past the govt we have today.
The disregard for our Constitution is nothing new, The very first adminstration violated it, and just about every one since has done likewise.
People will do what you accept, not what you expect.
