If any of you Benning guys are around the training areas at some point, my name is PFC Cody Riley. Ship out at 0430 in the morning. I would ship today, but I am close to my max weight limit, and they don't want me eating too much tonight at the hotel at MEPS. So early rise for me tomorrow! Thank you all for the wishes, can't wait to join all of you guys. Will check in as much as possible.

Well, after 10 weeks Im back. Sad to say I got injured. Was running with one of my buddies, and tripped on a crack in the pavement. Landed with full body weight on my knee cap and crushed the fluid sac under my knee cap. Major swelling and inflammation make it hard to walk/run. So they sent me home, I wouldn't be able to train with the injury. It sucks big time. With my discharge I have 6 months until I can re-enlist, and I WILL be going back. Basic training is too easy! Just figured Id update this. Got a few things up for sale, since Im out of work for now. Help a brother out! (Shameless plug!)

Get well soon but don't rush it. Let your knee heal properly and take it easy. When you get back down to Benning let me know and hopefully I'll still be in the area.
Did you MOS qualify before your injury?
During your down time maybe you should check in with the VA and get some more education. Any degree or certificate would help advance your Army career.
Maybe when you sign back up it will be for OCS.

Today is my last day home. Ship out for basic tomorrow. Going to Benning for Infantry. Going to miss the ODT and all the good laughs from you guys. Save me some deals will ya?!

I'm sorry you got hurt but you're young so your body will easily heal itself. Good man to go back !! I went thru Infantry School at Benning in 86'. I probably wouldn't recognize the place now.

I got a Chapter 11 discharge. I wasn't able to take 2 of the PT test, due to my injury, so they sent me home because of that. Its bull**** to me, I could have been recycled after I healed. But they told me there wasn't anything medically they can do for my knee except for steroid injections, which I refused. So now I'm just resting it and trying to find a job! At least they gave me my mid-month pay. So I was happy about that. Im a E-3 so the money was good, well, better than what I was making anyway!
