I had a Jeep 4.0 thermostat get stuck closed, caused the engine to overheat. Changed it out and was good to go.

I have one we got new, I believe it has red coolant from the OEM. The Orange is strictly for GM. Make sure it is not just overflow.
Great vehicle in many ways, not in surviving the warranty. Several recalls on this model, some are serious. If you keep it, get these checked or handled.

It's 2013, has the 3.6 VVT V6 with 59K miles, yes, it had a clear Carfax report. We got the extra warranty but it's only been 4 days since we brought it home
Just dealt with water pump and thermostat issues on a jeep Cherokee. Heater blows hot now and no more overheating.

There is no right of recision or anything like that on used cars unless the dealer offered it themselves. Legally you’re effed on that end. The warranty you purchased “should” cover it but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one either. If it’s a serious issue you’ll probably have to make a scene and act like an ass and the dealer might help you out with the repair.

Checked by who ? Everybody always says this but who can LOOK at a vehicle and tell something is wrong with it, it drove like it should. It was a warm the day when we bought it so we didn't try the heater and the car didn't over heat during the test ride or on the way home
