Ask one to be one?

Comparing Masons to affirmative action is pretty disgusting.

Did you even read this is context? No, of course you didn't. You just picked out the words you didn't like and created an argument. I said the preferential treatment given to masons by other masons within organizations (as previously experienced by another member) has the same or similar effect. I was comparing the effect of the two. Basic reading comprehension goes a long way.

Quite a bit of misinformation here. It's too bad most Masons have no idea what their organization really stands for and supports. Most of the people on here banging the drum have no idea but it's not all their fault and are mostly good salt of the earth men who think they are supporting a worthy cause. Most first to third degree (master) masons are not educated men but hardworking people like policemen, firemen, skilled laborers, and enlisted military who feel they are helping their community through a worthwhile cause.

Many good working class men who work hard to put meat on the table for their family are duped into paying dues and eventually taking oaths at advanced levels that they find are directly against their religious beliefs.

No offense to the men here who are telling others how they can maintain their religious beliefs since you cannot at advanced degrees, and how they do good deeds since they do as their face to society.

As a master mason you are still at the very beginning of the path. Like that other society that hollywood loves so much you will be paying dues and recruiting other members. You will be taking oaths. You will be renouncing your chosen religion at some point if you continue the path. Do not be fooled by those here, they just don't know any better.

Do not take my word for it and do your research by finding a former Mason who you trust, a knowledgeable priest or pastor, or humanities or philosophy professor at University who is familiar with free masons and have a discussion about it with them.

There are also a couple good books like The Deadly Deception: Freemasonry Exposed at Barnes and Noble or Amazon.

So because something is printed in a book I guess that means it is always 100% true? It never surprises me about all the evil things that non-Masons "know" about the craft. I am not a brain surgeon, so I don't pretend to know about brain surgery....Please don't make generalized remarks about things you know absolutuely NOTHING about.

He can't help it. He doesn't sign in here often, but when he does, he is better and knows more than anyone else. All this knowledge, armed with nothing more than an internet access, a keyboard, and an attitude. Please, don't sign in often.
