Ugh! Wtf! When are things going to start being done about these school shootings? Interesting how the article says that security was being tightened on campus FOLLOWING the incident. Yea, that's a GREAT time to start.

An ounce of prevention....problem is the tightening of security the speak of would do little to stop something like this. It's a manifestation of the general moral decay of society imo.

Everytime i walk into my daughter's school, it scares me how sloppy security is just to walk in.

Yea, but it's interesting that they don't attack a building that has an armed guard in it. They go for places where they know they'll at least have a few minutes to kill. And when the police show up they either kill themselves or get shot by the police. Usually they shoot themselves. It shows they are cowards. Adam Lanza drove into the Newtown High School parking lot before driving over to Sandy Hook (which was just a couple minutes away). They have him on video surveillance doing this. There was a police cruiser parked in the high school lot (belonged to the SRO) and so he left and drove to the elementary school. That's really the point I was making.

"You never think something like this is going to happen to you until you have to react in that situation when someone is screaming there is a gun in the building. I ran for my life," said Allison Kope, a freshman from Cocoa Beach, Fla. "I ran right out the back door. My laptop and everything is still in there. It was shock. It was just instinct. You don't think about anything else, you just go."

This is why you always carry and train, train, train. But in this case, it's illegal to carry on campus.

No I understand...try convincing people of the need for armed guards in school and see how that goes. Beleive me I agree with you...the problem is also that the public at large are 1 step removed from cave paintings when it comes to doig what needs to be done.

how safe would a campus be if you didn't know who was lawfully carrying and who wasnt?
