Wonder if Julio will end up being a Colt too...part time...
WHEW. The NFL QB carousel just took another spin, and this time, the Indianapolis Colts will have Matt Ryan starting under center this fall after the Atlanta Falcons dealt the longtime quarterback for just a third-round pick.
Matt Ryan definitely did not deserve all of the hate he has gotten. He played with class, never complained as was always available. Much respect
All this tells me the Falcons really wanted Watson and after Cleveland signed him, the damage was done on Ryan.

Going to be funny when all the Matt Ryan haters say "well I wanted to get rid of Matt, but I wanted to secure his successor first"....Like MVP franchise QBs just grow on ****ing trees in the NFL
Yep. Good guy who made the most of the talent he had. I wish him well. He was a solid franchise QB, but lack of mobility and a weak arm is one too many flaws in today's NFL.
It's the perfect time for a reboot. There are no quality franchise QBs to be had this year via either draft or free agency. Get a seat warmer QB who won't embarrass the franchise (Mariotta will work for that purpose), and do a reset / rebuild. It will take a few years to clean up the cap mess and assemble a winning group, but going in the right direction now will save a couple of years of not accomplishing anything, which would have happened without a substantial makeover.
My suggestion: For now, use journeymen at the skill positions, and go all in on O-line and D-line in the next two drafts.
Great O-lines turn average skill players into pro-bowlers. Great D-lines turn average linebackers and defensive backs into pro-bowlers. There will be an O-line or D-line stud when the Falcons pick at #8. Even better, drop back 5 to 10 spots and get another quality pick.
