It doesn't have to be next day air. 2nd day is half as much and just as quick basically. Ground is a lot cheaper and who cares? UPS doesnt care if you ship guns to yourself. 99.9% of the time they dont even know your item is a gun. Why would you tell them? Telling them what it is is stupid and just asking for it to get stolen. For all they know, it could be a fishing pole, car part, DVD player, a book, baseball bat.

Every time I have shipped a gun to myself I have never told them what it is. They never ask. If they did? You can say it's car parts. If you want to freak out the girl behind the counter who will then call her manager to ask about legality and SOP, say its a gun and then you can jump through the hoops.
