This story bothers me in a couple of deep ways.

My mom told me God gave you a brain, use it.

That kind of turn-the-other-cheek Christianity has fallen out of fashion in many parts, but not among a number of black pastors I checked with Friday. I had called around to see if they would arm themselves in light of what happened in Charleston. The answer? Nope.

Once again, Lester isn’t looking for an early return to his Creator. The church has a retired deputy walking the grounds during services, and they have a surveillance camera.

So carry there is OK?

“I hope it won’t change,” he said. “It’s a faith thing. I have faith that God will protect me.”

He has faith, but what if a parishioner's faith isn't that strong and they want to arm themselves just in case? I mean maybe their mother told them to use their noggin.

Motley said he didn’t consider putting a “No Guns” sign up at his door. “No, people just know my stand. It’s love, it’s what Christianity is all about.

“I don’t know an African-American church that says, ‘Bring your guns.’ I don’t think you can find one.”

I asked about the idea of an armed sanctuary. “Oh, God, that’s sick,” he said. “We’re back to the Wild West. Everyone go and shoot it out. It’s barbaric. It’s insane. It’s the moral rot from the state Capitol.”

The "moral rot" is standing behind a racist law while making the congregation unsafe.

Church, he said, “should be the one place where you are at peace. I think that notion has been damaged but not destroyed.”

Damaged? 9 lives were destroyed!

However, Motley is realistic. People make individual choices, and parishioners might choose to go against policy.

“They won’t be armed in any official way,” he said with a chuckle. Nevertheless, he added, “They are Americans. Many black people, like white people, are packing.”

'Blessed are the peacemakers'

I didn't research it as I knew what the answer was when I heard that the Reverend Clementa Pinckney was a legislator and his "support" of the second amendment.

It never ceases to amaze me of the leftist mentality of absolving themselves from any measure of personal responsibility of safety. I just can't comprehend how incredible naïve and ignorant some leaders are.

As a leader of any group the first and highest concern is the safety of the group whatever the activity. Risk assessment is a critical thinking skill that is ignored as to establishing "effective" measures that honestly work! To me it reflects poorly on leader who can't cast off his bias, plan, organize, equip, train and rehearse a feasible working effective plan of safety.

Thankfully these mass shootings are a rare occurrence. If they were common place leaders would be forced to establish an effective response.

Until leadership sincerely takes to task the "responsibility" of the safety of their group within the confines of the current laws then we will repeat the same errors and continue to loose more innocent lives.

South Carolina's "Guns Everywhere Bill" make it illegal to legally carry firearms in Churches but specifically exempts Churches who decide to arm specific members for their "safety".

So the current recommended fixes are to enact more gun restrictions that would not have made any difference to any previous mass shooting, take down a flag and continue to double on failed policies that allowed the shooting to occur in a "Gun Free Zone".

I'm telling everyone, "Gun Free Zones" have been the most successful tool used to strip rights from citizens for decades. No amount of loss of life will allow them to forsaken them and they will retain them to the bitter end. Unless we destroy this lie and de-criminalize "lawful" carry by honest citizens in our churches and schools.

That about sums the classic Liberal response up in a nutshell.....

At our church this past Sunday had someone say,I don't want to know if anyone is carrying a gun,but I hope someone is.
My wife just looked at me and smiled....

Remember even Peter carried a sword....
"Even jesus had twelve disciples on the level, trigger, whatever"

Even Jesus had his disciples arm themselves.

People are just plain stupid to think a law will protect them in a gun free zone especially when criminals prey on unarmed people there regularly knowing they are easy prey.

Making the same mistakes over and over while expecting different results is the definition of insanity which is the liberal lawmaking mindset when it comes to the gun debate.

With this administration no idea too insane is a surprise and no corrupt way of making laws stick by the use of the liberal Supreme Court or any other crooked legal wrangling is a shocker.

That being said I will not be surprised if this administration uses the stacked high court to seriously damage the second amendment before Ibama is done whizzing on our core foundations.

If this happens and we do not act as Jefferson instructed then we deserve all we get from these socialist bastards.
