Atlanta's Rock & Roll Station!!!!

I remember my band did several acoustic songs at night with Alan Ayo at the 96 Rock Station. We brought in a bunch of beer and pizza and got tore up Alan included.!! Then onto the Gold Club and Cheetah with Alan. Always a good time.

And the first song they ever played, was....

Baba O'Riley
(No, I didn't hear it. I was nine, and living in another state.)

I never heard what the last song was.

Atlanta was always a sucky radio market-- middle Georgia had better rock and rap stations in the 80s-- I never really understood why. But 96 Rock was good, and was for a long long time.

I remember a commercial from the early 80's, where a cracking grandmotherly voice said "I can hardly wait. My Fav-O-Rite band is coming to Atlanta" Then a male voice said "Lock up your granny-- AC/DC is coming to town!".

Ah, the good ole days.

I think south side Steve is still on somewhere out there. The regular guys were the shyt. I’ve never laughed so hard. I still remember when the plugged got pulled on them. The second time. And 3rd. Lol
