Backpacking Tent Recommendations?

Another vote for big Agnes. If in CO, you might find a deal at their steamboat store. Excellent customer support you won’t need.
Or REI Labor Day sale now.
I use a bivy for same hunting. Going back to base every day is a leg killer.

Big Agnes, I've section hiked the AT and used several but the BA is the best for the $ Light plenty of room and includes a vestibule for boots, small stove etc.

Improved Combat Shelter, you can grab em off ebay for $50 or so, they are durable and built to handle bad weather well. BIG down side, they are like 2 pounds heavier than some of the newer commercial products. On a long hike, especially over terrain, 2 pounds is a big difference.

Eureka Tents, best I've used. As compaired to the lightest, it isn't. But still a really good tent. In adverse weather you'll want good shelter. Make sure the tent can get rid of condensation, you'll be glad you did
And has a bottom to keep the spiders and snakes out. Eeek!!!
