She sleeps on the roost next to the chickens. The duck sleeps in a low nesting box i made for her.

I drew up plans for a coop last night, cant wait to get it built! Im doing a 6x6 coop with a fenced in run thats 6x8

My piece of advice. Build your run 5,6,7 feet tall. Mine is built from a dog pen and is only 48" and anytime i need to do maintenance i have got to crawl around in chicken poop.

I was going to have it attach to the side of the coop and be 5 ft tall and have it fully enclosed with chicken wire so they can be out at anytime whether someone is home or not and I wont have to worry about the hawk

Keep in mind. Chicken wire is to keep chickens in not keep predators out.

Mine is done in all hardwire.

I know. The coop will be inside my fence so I am not too worried about security of the run

would it be better to have the 6x6 base sitting on the ground or have it sit on 4x4's cemented in the ground?
