UPDATE: finally got around to shingling the roof, and hung some steel today. I’ve decided I need a few more loads of dirt on the berm to bring it up higher, and a load or two to fill in a low spot collecting water. I had to dig a shallow ditch around the berm to assist in draining, but there is still a 5x10ft wash out that holds 6-10 inches of water.
Here’s some pictures of how I hung the steel. Let’s see how it holds up.

It will compact and erode WAY faster than you can imagine. Ideally you want some type of containment system on the back side and a means to really PACK the dirt in. Not practical for most folks. I defaulted to tires and even they are caving in.

Tires packed with dirt. Not as easy to fully pack stacked tires as you might think.
