just spent a week in Bainbridge as a volunteer with GA Baptist disaster relief. It's hard to describe the devastation that occurred there with hurricane Michael. The pecan crop is estimated to be 40-50% lost and I can't imagine there being a cotton harvest at all. In the city of Bainbridge there are live oak limbs everywhere as well as uprooted trees, many as large as 5-7 feet in diameter.
Special shout out to Morning Side Baptist church who housed us. There were about 70 of us staying on their property so this was no small inconvenience. They are most gracious folks. I am sure the financial burden is not small either with increased water and electricity not to mention wear and tear. Their address should you want to drop something in the plate from afar is.
Morning Side Baptist Church
1303 Vada Road
Bainbridge, GA 39818
Donations to GA Baptist Disaster Relief can be made through this web site.

The Red Cross and Salvation Army also went the extra mile in providing the product and distribution for the 76,000 meals we cooked through the time I was there, to donate.

Great post. I have family that lives a few miles from the church up Hwy 97. They farm. It's a little irritating to see the complete lack of in depth coverage in the Atlanta area. The panhandle area was devastated but so were these fellow Georgians.

We had to make a run to Sam's club in Tallahassee to pick up some odds and ends. The damage I saw in GA was worse than what I saw in FL. Pecan farmers lost many of their mature trees as well as practically all of this years crop in areas.

Yep. Cotton is shot.
