Bama v. Clemson.... live commentary....

When Saban retires, Dabo will go back home, won't he? Not guessing that is imminent or anything, but it seems pretty likely.

Dano is a great coach, no argument there, but he's got a ways to go before he can surpass the height of the dynasty that Saban has built. He has twice as many national championships which ranks him far above Swinney.........

Its all about the money. High bidder gets the coach. Alabama has the bucks.
Clemson, and IPTAY, have deep pockets ...look at the facilities they have built recently...but for Dabo it's not all about the money...he has forgone some money in order to give raises to his assisstants...for him it is being able to huild a winning program the right way..
As long as they allow him to do that he's going nowhere.

Dabo has been a head coach 11 years.
Nick has been a college head coach for 23 years.

I have to believe for any former player, now coach, the allure of returning to your alma mater is pretty strong. But it comes at a cost (look at Richt).
Right now Dabo is a big fish in a relatively speaking small(er) pond. Saban is a big fish in a big pond. It's a lot easier to rule the ACC than the SEC.
Dabo seems to be a great guy. I personally hope he stays OUT of the SEC. (Unless of course fate brings him to LSU. ;) )
