Barn Door

I completed the door and with help it was hung last week. Not as bad a project as I was thinking. I removed the old door and she wanted the hinge cuts fixed. I ripped 1/8” off a 2x4, cut to length and sanded the cut out curves. Alls remaining is to paint the trim.

That will probably double the effort of the entire project too, the way pre-hung doors are made!!

About 1.5” not sure what to do about some kind of handle. Thinking about 1/2” quarter round. I got to think about it some more. Right now I’m not getting requests for handle.

Did you buy the door or make it yourself? I saw some for $600 the other day and decided I could make them for a lot less than that.

No I made it, 1x8 choice pine. I think I have about $80 in materials.
