Barrel threading

A year or so ago there was a member in metro Atlanta that was threading factory Ruger 10/22 barrels, if I recall he was doing this on the front sight ring but I could be wrong.

Who is this member?

I’ve already built a 10/22 with a threaded green mountain bull barrel, just looking to have a factory tapered barrel threaded. Or I’ll be listing said rifle for sale or trade for a Ruger American with a threaded barrel.

I be do this. If you don’t want to keep the front sight post I just take it out and turn down that fat part under it. Makes for a nice shoulder.

You can buy a better quality aftermarket barrel that is already threaded for the 10/22 for about the same price as having it threaded. Unless there is some reason you are in love with that barrel, just buy another one that will shoot better.
