The Barrow County Sheriff Office is opening their range back up to the public. I used to shoot there reguarly before they closed it to the public due to budget constraints. Currently, it is not limited to Barrow Residents only, and hopefully it will stay that way.
I wanted to alert as many people as possible so that this will remain active with people coming to shoot. Otherwise, the Sheriff Office will most likely close it again.
Please note that they only open to the public on the FIRST Saturday of every month. They are NOT open tomorrow (later today). They will be open next Saturday.
They have some steel targets as well as paper targets and currently the pistol and rifle range are shared. I understand that they are building a new separate rifle range which will be real nice as currently, you can't shoot rifles and pistols at the same time. The current range goes to 100yds and I hear the new rifle range will be 200yds. This is where the $10.00 range fee is going, into improvements to the range.
Time: First Saturday of every month
Hours: 8-Noon
