Need some help ODT? I have a gas key on a new Nickel Boron BCG that I run on a DD.. I ran it hard this Weekend.. I pulled it apart this weekend and noticed the gas key is rough and had small cuts in it..

I assume it is been hitting the gas tube.. What is your opinion and more importantly how would you correct it? I have never seen this before

I shoot the heck out of mine all the time and I don't think I've ever seen that happen.
Did you check the bolts to make sure they're tight. I'm sure somebody on here is a lot smarter than me but I don't know what would have done that.

I have put several thousand rounds on my favorite AR and I have never seen that.

What does the end of the gas tube look like? It is chamfered to help self-direct alignment when the bolt is cycling and, if it is misaligned and striking, you should see some damage/wear on it I would think.

Hard to tell by the picture but it looks like the outermost metal "lip" if you will is what has been taking abuse.
