This thing is a lot bigger than the locomotives I have seen on TV and in person and it looks to be a sure nuff Hoss!

What an awesome sight. My Dad, Grand Dad, aunts, uncles all worked on the ACL and later Seaboard Coastline railroads back in the 1930’s to 70’s and I loved to hear them tell the stories of the steam locomotives.

I think @DinkyDau was on the “General” during the great locomotive chase back in ‘62.....that’s 1862.

That is so cool! Heck of a water tank, and those drive arms are huge.

That looks like what they called the "Big Boy" that were made to cross the mountains when the rail was completed to the west coast. They also had a model like it that had the cab in the front. My Dad worked for the Central of Georgia in the '20's.
