I'm drinking a Belgian I made myself, its better than 99% of the stuff I buy in the store, or drink in the bar.
Its my all time favorite. 9%abv. Champagne like bubbles, just enough wheat, copper colored, plenty of hops to balance the 1lb of candy sugar I add to 5 gallons. Its truly amazing.
I also make a couple of less complex beers, a black lager thats a favorite of several ODT'ers, lots of chocolate and coffee on top of a very nice lager. I also make a Fat tire Amber clone that all my sailing buddies love.
Makin it yourself is very satisfing, and I dont have to worry about getting more, I got a fridge full.
I had the Bells Hopslam last night. Pretty great IPA, but just a hint of sweetness that seemed out of place. Also, don't drink 4 and expect to retain all of your faculties.
Anyone tried this one? View attachment 271401
Yes.
Good example of a Baltic. Malty, sweet with a slight bite at the end. Good stuff.
I just stumbled upon this thread .... Like Pliny The Elder still haven't tried Pliny The Younger.
my favorite is Maharaja by Avery if you like Imperial IPA try it , the best.
