Beretta 92. What is wrong with this gun

Picked up a 92 about a year ago and had the same thing happen. I can shoot quite a few different handguns rather proficiently but couldnt hit center with this gun. Decent groups but consistently 3-4 inches from center. Thought it was the sights cause I was holding groups just off center. Had an old time PO that worked at the range come shoot it to see if the sights need to be tapped over, and he left one ragged hole dead center at 10 yards. Not sure if the it's the trigger or what but the 92 is just a gun I flat out don't shoot well.

It was frustrating, I would shoot 4-5 rounds with the INOX, and be all over the place, Grab the SR1911CMD, Put 7 in the red. Grab the P229 357 and get a nice 3-4 inch group, grab the inox and be in the outer ring. This was at 25 feet out.

Totally understand brother. Sad to say it's not one I held on to for very long.

I'm starting to feel that way to. I like the idea of the gun better than the gun. It looks awesome but... On the other hand I have a lot of safe queens that I have just because I wanted them,

I looked at my beretta 92G and the pin IS staked. Might need a smith to take care of that for you.

So here's a funny thing about the 92 models. I shoot lights out with the Italian made 92F. Shoot like crap with the 92FS. Can't even get through a mag on the M9 (92 equivalent American made). So yeah maybe it's mental but could be the gun as well. Every gun is not created equally. Go shoot a Glock 19 lights out like any of them shoot then shoot a Kel-Tec P11 and see how that built up confidence from shooting the G19 deflates instantly.

Sounds to me like you just need to replace the pin itself. someone might have replaced it with either the wrong one or one that has been removed too many times. A new pin should solve the problem.

Dang it Soviet you made go look at the FS and it is a solid pin and yes it IS staked. If you gun has a solid pin then it appears they stake these at the factory. Mine on the FS is a wedge type staking, rather than a round pin type of staking.

Yeah haha. It made me wonder too. I keep a beretta 92G in the car for a range toy. Had to grab it and look. Id still change the pin then have it staked by someone who knows what they are doing. I would not try it yourself.

I couldn't group worth a dang with my Taurus 92 (Beretta knock-off).

Sold it to 2001SportTJ and he can make one ragged hole with it at 10 yds...for whatever reason I could never get the knack with that gun.

(I bet someone probably did replace it with a pin that "looked" right-but ain't)
