Beretta 92. What is wrong with this gun

Ok I picked this 92 FS Inox a few days ago. The gun is just not accurate. Maybe its me. I noticed however that the extractor pin keeps working it out as you fire it. I can push it back in with my finger, shoot two rounds and its back out. It never comes all the way out but it looks cocked sideways in the shaft. Not sure of the round count on the gun but it was clean and looks like its got a low round count. A friend and I looked on google and it looks like the extractor pin needs to be staked. What do you guys think?

does it have any failure to ejects at all? 99% of the time when our military issue 92s would do that, or anything wrong in the extractor area, it would just need a new extractor spring.

No failures to eject. Fires fine. Just not accurate but that could have been me. It was not a good night at the range as far as accuracy goes.

ya, lookin around google it looks like the inox has a issue with the pins walking out. (maybe the coating?? i dunno lol) i know every 92fs i messed with in the Army (alot as a armorer lol) i could take the extractor apart without tools. never had a staked one i had to punch out. i dont even remember them saying anything about it being staked in armorers school either lol.

i would take it up to Ft. Daniels and see if he will restake it for you.

Sorry, I was not trying to imply stupidity. I have no way of knowing your skill or knowledge of firearms. You did post and ask for advice and I am asserting my recommendation. If the gun is new to you, it may have other underlying issues that could get you seriously hurt.

Picked up a 92 about a year ago and had the same thing happen. I can shoot quite a few different handguns rather proficiently but couldnt hit center with this gun. Decent groups but consistently 3-4 inches from center. Thought it was the sights cause I was holding groups just off center. Had an old time PO that worked at the range come shoot it to see if the sights need to be tapped over, and he left one ragged hole dead center at 10 yards. Not sure if the it's the trigger or what but the 92 is just a gun I flat out don't shoot well.

Sounds to me like you just need to replace the pin itself. someone might have replaced it with either the wrong one or one that has been removed too many times. A new pin should solve the problem.
