Bermuda grass questions

I tend to agree. I have a rain gauge and it can downpour for 30 minutes straight and will only measure maybe 1/4-1/2". Consider that when you water it's getting nowhere near this and Bermuda needs an inch of rain a week ideally. It's probably not watering enough. You're also not supposed to take more than 1/3 of the blade height off when you cut. So, if it's getting tall and you only mow once a week you're basically scalping it. Rotary mowers do nothing but tear the grass anyway as well.

How do golf courses get away with putting greens in the heat?

They water and use reel mowers that don't tear the grass. They also cut it at least daily for greens. I have a reel mower and it absolutely sucks to use. Just make sure your rotary mower blade is sharp.
When I was a kid back in the horse and buggy days, I had to mow the grass 1 acre with a reel mower...It did not have an engine and sharping it was a pain.

Mine is self-propelled, but it's still way harder to push than a rotary. My yard is large, so I have to have the blade sharpened or backlapped about every 8 cuts. With the maintenance I spend on the Tru-Cut I could buy a new Honda every year and throw it away and spend the same, literally.

Man, with the rain we've had I've had to cut my Bermuda every three or four days...

I just raised the deck last week and it's so much easier to cut and maintain.
