Bermuda grass questions

Once bermuda is established it should be watered once per week but very deeply. You are trying to simulate 1" of rain. To verify you could set out a few solo cusps when you water to see how much water you catch.

If you water too frequently you spoil the grass, the roots don't grow deep, and the grass is weak in the face of drought and disease.

Also, most of the weeds thrive when watered frequently. By watering less frequently but deeper you grow strong grass and weak weeds

Not sure why you have bare spots. Poor soil, not enough sun,

Do you add lime to even out the PH? If not fertilizing the yard is pretty much pointless

It gets plenty of sun, the side with the most shade is way nicer! I just use what's in the bag, I don't pay attention to the lime content. Any recommendations?

There isn't usually lime in the Fert. The soil in GA is naturally acidic. Grass and many plants can't take up the nutrients very well unless the PH is brought down by adding lime every 3 years or so. You can fertilize all day but it just washes right through the soil with little benefit.

Forty pounds of pelletized lime ($5 per bag) per 1000 square feet of lawn area is approximately enough. Pelletized lime is cheaper than fast acting lime

Water longer and deeper NOT more often

The dollar spots may be fungal. I'm not very good at diagnosing that.

Had a buddy who couldn't get his grass to jump.
Told him to put out ammonium nitrate 34-0-0.
He did and got no results.
Aksed if he put out lime. Nope.
Told him to put out lime.
He had to cut it every 3 days for a month! lol

It may not be a good idea to just cut back to watering once per week immediately. I would 100% cut back to 2 times a week unless you have just put out seed. Then as the temps cool down transistion to once per week and never look back. I just increase water duration in the summer and decrease it again for Fall and Spring.

Does your irrigation system provide good coverage? Properly spaced heads should provide that every point in the yard gets double coverage (i.e. gets hit by more than one head) Many of the yards I see are overwatering some areas while others are underwatered
