You sir are the second genius I have ran into today, you are absolutely insightful. You cannot true blue stainless, hence the name stainless! You can apply a oxidized coating but you will never get that Colt Blue that makes a Colt a Colt...

I'm not 100% sure. I know I spoke to him about 8 months ago, and he was still working. He may have cut down on how much he takes in. I don't know for a fact though.

I got two options now, either i wait until colt custom shop reveals DLC black coating or sell it and wait until they offer blued one. I decided not to trust and risk with individual gunsmith and stick with colt shop so that if they mess something up they can just send me brand new one .

In for this intel as well. I have sent customer's guns to Ford's in the past. Good looking work. A local option would be radical though.
