Best bulk ammo to buy

The brass will be fine to reload. Will need to de-crimp the primer pocket.
I have done that before so I have the tool for that. I just wanted to know which brass would be the best. Lake City used to have halfway decent ammo so I am hoping it still as good as it was. I am not to fond of some of the imported brass because it's hard to prep and takes repeating steps to get it right. I think PMC is one that presents problems. Nothing to ridiculous but just hard and creates jagged edges if not done correctly.

Find someone who makes ammo using Norma, Lapua or Peterson Cartridge brass.

If that's too spendy for you, Hornady and Starline brass is pretty good.
I am ordering a load of Starline for my 6.8 spcll. It's a great price. I just need some bulk ammo to replace some 5.56 ammo to stock up while it's available. I would buy all Hornady but that's a little rich for my blood.

Can't beat Lake City.

If it's good enough for the US military, by God, it should be good enough for you!

Edit: I just processed a couple thousand pieces of LC 308. Cleaned up great. pockets reamed easily, spent a while trimming to length, but I think I'd have to do that regardless.

I'm sure they'll load up fine.

If I do my part and get the powder measured and bullets seated consistently, it'll be great ammo.

I haven't seen American Eagle in a while. Seems like all the 1000 round boxes are Winchester. I have never had any good results with Winchester. PMC ??????
Never had any major issues with with Federal, Winchester, or PMC. Their bulk lines aren't the best for accuracy wise but paper punching it is fine. Really wouldn't notice a difference until you were bench rest shooting, at least I don't.

PMC I've been using forever, since it was white and red box that my father bought in the 80's. It's right up there with the top brands IMO.

So if I order 1000 rounds of Lake City 62 grain ammo the lake City brass will be A ok for reloading? Second question why did Federal give up that good thing they had going.

I looked up American Eagle and all the bulk boxes are non existent.

Most of your question was already answered.

When looking for American Eagle, the 20rnd boxes seem to be cheap enough, just order the amount you want ( 50 boxes of 20rnds each).

Though the Hornaday Frontier I linked earlier should be good for reloading as well ( though I'm not a reloader, so I could be wrong)

I use my account with Targetsportsusa.com and their free shipping. At one time there was no tax but if I watch them closely with notify I catch tremendous deals on 9, 556, 303 and 30-06. I've also caught a few amazing deals on Norma website a couple times. Makers like S&B make their own brass in house but I've only used their 9mm brass reloading.
