Best Caliber for DEER hunting in GA.

I love the 30-30 or 30.06... 30-30= a great brush gun..... and I mean Great. If your looking for a lil bit more stand off, I go with the 06 more than I do the 308... No ryme or reason, Just do.

I use a SAKO 30/378 Wby Mag or my Browning BAR in 300WSM MY son uses Win 243.

The one you feel most comfortable with and confident to make a solid deadly shot. Does not matter the caliber as long as it is potent enough to take down deer sized game with proper shot placement. Many folks think bigger is better.....Not true if you can't make a "good" shot. I saw a fella that said out west some sort of 7mm mag, while true, not needed. any 6mm to 6.5 and up will do the job further than most of us can shoot. So grab your favorite rifle and don't worry about a thing.

I used a .35 marlin for a long time. Great round for up here in the ridges.

You should hunt with the most powerful caliber you can shoot accurately with. You can't overkill a deer, but you can underkill one. 300 WSM for me.

I have and like the 270, 7mm 08, 308. I use all of them the only problem I have is deciding which one I will take.
