Best factory knife (edc) brand

I've gone through Spyderco and Benchmade phases, still have 3 or 4 Spydies (sold of most of the nicer ones) and currently have a Benchmade Adamas for sale/trade (check it out!). But in recent years,I got tired of toting expensive blades that I was skiddish about using, or losing, and especially leery about handing to some knucklehead that asks if anyone has a knife on them. Last couple years, I've been hauling around a humble Dozier KaBar, with blue FRN scales (I think they stole the color from Spyderco).
But it's light, and functional, looks pretty cool, and it aint a heartbreaker should I lose it or jack it up. Works for me.

Never lost one, however if someone asks to use it or needs it for something dirty I keep a Leatherman rebar to hand them. Never had a microtech I didn't feel like was a work of art.

I have my edc in my pocket, always wear a neck knife and keep a spare edc in my glove box and another in my lock box for just in case. Makes my eyes roll to see men that don't carry a knife. To look at me you wouldn't know I was carrying anything

Lol

Lol I've met you so I'd assume you had more than a knife, but that's unfair.

That was your G26.3 once upon a time.

Bumping this old thread....

Back in the day, I was a huge Benchmade fan (still love them). My boss was a big Spyderco fan and he always tried to convince me how great they were. Honestly, I thought it was the ugliest knife I had ever seen. Then he gifted me one. I don't even remember the model, but I do remember that after only a week or two of carrying and using it, I quickly understood why so many people like them. Loved the way it opened, the way it fit my hand, and the way it cut. So much so, that I was able to look past the ugly duckling appearance. Nowadays Spyderco is easily my favorite brand. I've even grown to LIKE the way they look.
