Our club is across Little river from BF Grant and we have a bunch that come and go across the river. I killed 225 lb sow last Sunday and there were about 25 of all sizes. Have some pics of 300+ lb. Do not know when you can hunt but the river bottom by the train track now is hot.

Does anyone know if the area around Augusta is any good?

?

It's hit or miss really, I've seen some near Thomson, Ga at Clarks hill WMA, seen a few at Yuchi WMA also, however Yuchi is down near Waynesboro, Ga.
Columbia County was having a hog problem and the county started trapping them, but again, it's hit or miss. I hunt a little 40 acre tract in Harlem that has a few, a buddy of mine a few miles down the road has never seen one at his place..
Also have a 400 acre lease in Jenkins County, never seen hide nor hair of a hog, but a friend has a lease 20 minutes away and it's not uncommon for him to kill 3 or 4 on any givin day..
I will say this, in the Augusta area and surrounding counties there is an over abundance of public hunting opportunities.
The Army Corps of Engineers has at least 6 facilities that are open to the public, and there are at least 6 WMA's within an hour or less drive, just gotta get out out in the woods and look.
Good luck.
