Other than that I'm outta suggestions.
The good news is the cost of ammo is the lowest I've seen in years, so at least we have that going for us.

The days of sub-$100 surplus rifles are probably over. My suggestion is to try the auction circuit. Proxibid is a good place to start. I saw a lot of Mosin's selling in the $200 range today.
Another option, is to collect what is not hot or out of favor right now. Everyone wants USA, German and Russian surplus. Consider the other countries like Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Japan. Also, I have noticed that USA Trapdoors and Krags seen to be somewhat out of favor and have dropped in price.
