Best way to fix this revolver?

I agree. Go from the other side inside the frame and peen the stud while backing the part up so it seats and swells to prevent movement.

This is your best option. I would use a dense nylon or hardwood for backing and dremel it out slightly to match the head of the stud to hold it in place so it doesn’t turn.
 
Knurled it, then put on loctite. Vinegar bathed the stud to get the bluing off, then clearcoated to prevent rust. Works like a charm.
