Big laser creek WMA range Thomaston

Just wanted to give a shout out to our great WMA shooting range just south of thomaston. The place is very well maintained, and never crowded more like usually empty. 100 yard range and remember to bring your own targets and holders. Also a very nice Lake with good fishing and lots of places to throw out a blanket for a picnic after a few rounds at the range. No cost of course, you just need to have a valid hunting or fishing license. Hope to see some of you guys there.

I gotta say our state does the parks things pretty nicely. Wilson Shoals was renovated a year or so ago and is a very nice facility. Charlie Elliott's range has been renovated recently but I haven't been to check it out yet.

For once I feel like my state income tax is going towards something worthwhile!

Come to think of it the GA State Parks were pretty nice but haven't been camping in years since the boys were younger.

I will probably eventually bite the bullet and pay it, but I have a real hard time with the initiation fee. It is by far the closest range to me, but I drive to Strong Point for now. I am going to check Big Laser creek in the near future.
