Holy crap, there are at least 100 crypto-currencies?
At this point, I'd say they're all scams. Bitcoin is one of the only ones that can be somewhat used as a currency, but when the value fluctuates as it does, it's useless as a currency. It's literally like throwing your money out there hoping it goes to a million per coin.
Ripple is a good one too. Financial institutions are actually using it and AmEx is accepting it for business transactions now as well
No money, just fiat currency. Money has inherent value such as gold and silver, both of which have a 6000+ year history of being a reliable store of value. All currencies are inherently worthless and eventually go to zero value in an average of 45 years. Regardless, it is not investing, but rather speculation...and it is fine, as long as you can afford to take the risk..... and have a chair when the music stops.
Yes... Tulips were once instruments of speculation as well.
Chinese investors are funneling money out of their country using Bitcoin, hence the surge. That's literally it. Now you have people jumping on the bandwagon.
