Black out

Yes definitely. It's much less distracting. I also credit cmshoot cmshoot with the idea. Here's a past thread about it:

Not sure Id credit anyone here with this discovery though we have some old timers here and it may be possible. ;) Older guns I've come across were already black and I've put a bit of model kit paint of the front sight to see it better.

I've done a couple blackouts in the past and did it with a gun I just sold and forgot to clean the sharpie off the rear sight. I decided to ask because I'm getting cabin fever and was considering doing some gun sight painting. Not sure I want to cover up night sights but I still have a few with basic 3 dots.
 
I prefer a tritium front and a serrated black rear with no dots or frippery.

I’m sure folks have been coming up with that combo for a long time.
