I started composting a few years back (needed a place to dump spent grain). These larva are always in the pile on the fringe. The center usually runs 140-150 degrees so I guess too hot for them. Me and the wife have been using them for bluegill at Henry Co Tussahaw reservoir and seem to work great. I'm heading up to Coopers Creek area at the end of month and will see if trout like them.
