Blade Show 2019

I was thinking about going until I saw this. Does Blade Show lie? Doesn't Georgia Carry host its annual convention at the Cobb Galleria where pretty much everyone carries?

The screen shot above indicates that the Cobb Galleria
itself, the Authority that owns and manages this facility, came up with the weapons policy.
I'm going to guess that's not true, because that would violate State preemption, unless this "government building" both hosts meetings of the government agency /authority in question AND has security screening at all the entrances (all that are used anyway).

More likely the Blade Show promoter, that marketing and exhibition company, is the entity that came up with the no weapons rule. A rule they put in place to serve their own private business interests (risk management, workplace safety, public image, etc.).

I have been going to Blade for the last 6 years and I have never NOT carried there..... ****’em

Who the hell would organize a knife show at a venue that doesn't allow you to carry one?
So, if you purchase a knife there does security immediately escort you out for policy violation when you take possession?

I think Blade Show is lying to its guests. Cobb Galleria does not prohibit guns or knives as far as I am aware. Blade Show wants all knife and gun carry prohibited and is falsely blaming Cobb Galleria as the culprit for the no-carry policy.

Here is their official policy for the site.

Georgia law provides for the owners of government buildings to use security personnel to restrict or screen
ingress into a government building preventing weapons from being brought into government buildings.
(o. C. G. A. Section 16‐11‐127). Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre (the “CEPAC”), Galleria Specialty Shops
(the “GSS), and Cobb Galleria Centre (the “CGC”) are government buildings within the meaning of Georgia law
[o. C. G. A. Section 16‐11‐127 (2)].
The general manager of the Cobb‐Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority is authorized to determine when
security personnel shall be employed to restrict or screen ingress into the Cobb Galleria Centre and Galleria
Specialty Shops. The general manager shall have the sole discretion to determine which events and which
locations within the governmental building shall have ingress restricted or screened by security personnel and
may delegate that authority to the managing director and assistant general manager. Events to be restricted or
screened shall be marked with signs informing the public that no weapons are allowed, and such areas shall
have security personnel restricting or screening ingress into those areas.

Basically the site retains the option to determine which events will use security to enforce weapons restrictions. For this particular purpose exercising that options seems pretty incongruous. Back in the day my granny would have characterized the decision as "eff'in retarded" but she kinda had a way with words.
