Boiled Peanuts!

I was in South Carolina on business the last two days and while in Summerville I had the good fortune to meet Hog Man. He's a guy who peddles pork rinds, cracklins, and boiled peanuts. His peanuts are awesome and he had a few flavors I would not have thought to make but they were good.... pickle flavored, banana pepper flavored (the best), cajun flavored (what you'd expect), and hamhock flavored. I passed on pickle and hamhock but the others were delicious.

So who has a particularly good or interesting recipe for boiled peanuts?

I worked in Summerville during my late teens & early twenties. I ate many great tasting boiled peanuts during my time there!

They're delicious. I wouldn't have thought to make them but they're my favorite!

The big fat green peanuts work real well also. Just have to boil them longer/higher heat than the white ones...

I buy the dried ones at Food Depot. Always good quality. I boil about 10 lbs at a time. Salt (about 1 container), Tony Chachere's (4-5 tbl sp) sugar (7-8 tbl sp) minced garlic (2 tbl sp) and sometimes throw in 3-4 jalapenos. Boil for 5-6 hours. My co-workers say they are the best they ever had.
