Boresighting a scope

I've never used a boresight laser.

I just pull the bolt, look down range through the barrel, find the target, adjust scope to target, insert bolt, load, hit paper. Three to four shots is usually all it takes for me at 100 yrds
I'm hearing that more and more, looks like I'm headed that way...Thanks for your reply

Considering its a bolt gun, set up at the range on bags. Place target at whatever distance. Big dark circular targets are easiest. Center target in bore, center reticle on target. Never not hit paper this way.

This is the only way I've ever done it for the past 30 years. If you can pull the bolt you can bore sight it yourself without a tool. I have a periscope type device that lets me do it when I cannot pull the bolt. It's all visual and it takes only a few rounds to get on target.
