First off I am not a bowhunter. I know just enough to be dangerous..
My 11 year old son "says" he wants a bow for Christmas. He wants one that he can just shoot in the backyard and maybe try to hunt with. I'm the kind of person that wants a good quality item if I am going to shell out $$ for it. I do want one he can grow with. He's just an average size 11 year old. By now means can he handle an "adult" bow. I have been told to look at Bowtech Infinite Edge, Bowtech Fuel, and Mission Craze by Matthews...any and all help and advice would be appreciated.

go to your local pro shop and they will be able to measure him and get him in a bow that fits him and wont hurt your wallet (pse fever one is what i shoot and it is very adjustable for growth )

I thought I replied to this already, but I'm not seeing my post showing up ???

Anyhow: Consider this one. Bear "Apprentice 2" or Apprentice II. They also have a similar model called the Apprentice 3 or III.
They're just under $300.
A real compound bow with all the adult style features and look, but scaled-down for youth hunters and women of smaller size.
This bow should be good for any boy or teenager who needs a bow at or below 27" in draw length.
When his arms get longer than that, a few years from now, you can sell it and use the money plus a little more to get a full-sized adult bow.
I don't think giving a full size and full-powered bow to an 11 year old is the best idea, expecting him to grow into it and keep it for a lifetime.
The kid may be a foot taller and 70 lbs heavier when he's 16 compared to his size now.
