24on48hunting 24on48hunting how do you like the hoyt recurve? I'm getting into recurve shooting and looking for a newer bow
I really like it! It’s a Hoyt Dorado takedown. The best thing about a takedown bow is the ability to get limbs in a different weight. I hunt with a set of 55# limbs. It shoots a 630 grain arrow hard as hell. I’d like to get a set of 45# limbs to use for practicing.
Grady Co is a long ways from here, but if you are ever in my area, you can stop by and shoot it. I have a few others in the 45# range as well.
Best piece of advice I can give is to shoot as many different bows as possible and see what fits you the best. Also, you’ll want to start out with a lighter draw weight. It’s hard to learn traditional archery when you are over-bowed. Focus on developing good form and a repeatable shot sequence.
