Dont know if this is the right place for this post, but here goes...

I recently got a barn-beater single action .410 from an ODT'er for the price of a box or two of hollow points. Now, it wasnt a lost cause, but seeing a gun go to waste makes my skin crawl. I decided to put a little elbow grease on it, and even did a full re cold blue on the receiver after stripping and mirror polishong it. Touched up the barrel with cold blue...stripped and stained the stock...Im really proud of how it turned out, especially as my 1st restoration/refurb/sprucing up. If my new forend didnt get back ordered id have some pictures to post in the squirrel hunting thread. Unfortunayely thres only the one "before" but plenty of "afters "

That looks nice--I did a similar gun a few years ago. It may still be on the server.

Mine was my grandfathers-passed down to my dad, and then to me. Mine was made by Savage for the True Value Hardware Company.

You might be able to track down the age of yours.

I use mine for armadillo eradication, number 6 shot from ten feet makes a two inch hole in their back with no exit--instant kill. Seems safer than the 22, which passes all the way through, and leaves them running and jumping.
