British Snowflakes Can't Tell Time . . .

I wonder how much of this is cannot tell time vs using that as an excuse. Notice, they're talking about clocks in exam rooms. "But, I didn't know time as up! I can't read that thing!"

My brother learned to tell time on a (analog) clock with Roman Numerals. Luckily we had other clocks when I learned. "What time is it?" "It's IV:XXIII"

It's not just clocks, but anything with an analog dial or gauge.
Thermometers (outdoor, or the indoor kind, or the medical kind).
Pressure gauges for checking air pressure in car or bicycle tires.
The thermostat on the wall of an older home.
If it ain't digital, they don't know how to read it.

One day when they start driving, they'll demand that all cars have digital-only readouts for the speedometer, temperature, and oil pressure.
