Browning A5 Classic 1 of 5000 value?

A buddy of mine wants to sell this shotgun, but needs a value on it first. Any help would be appreciated.

Browning A5 Classic 1 of 5000 in hard locking case. Gun is in good condition w/ no rust and a few minor handling marks. While doing a bit of research on this gun I have seen it stated several times that while it is marked 1 of 5000, there were only 2700 produced. I don't know if this is true or not. He knows what his minimum price would be (what he paid for it), but would like to know if it has increased in value since he got it.

Not many around, so difficult to price. Only guidance is there are a few on GB. The only one that sold, in June, went for 1550. The buy now price, which wasn't met, was 1700.

I'd say right now a grand. No one is buying right now. I'd hold out for $1500 at tax time.

Market is soft now. If someone flashes a grand, he needs to take the money and run.

I doubt he would break 800 on ODT, would do better on gunbroker, if he is set up to take credit card. If Money order only on GB, he won't see top dollar.
