Really looking for information on value. A buddy of mine fell on some hard times and has a circa 1980 Browning Invector Special Steel 12 gauge that has some pitting and rust around the action. I’ll post pictures later on but I’d estimate the condition at 88-90%. He tells me he paid $800 when he bought it for his dad back in 1980 but from all the gun boards I’ve looked at, that doesn’t seem realistic. Anyways I know without photos it’s hard to tell but I know nothing about these. Hell I wasn’t even born when he claims to have bought it. Any help would be appreciated.
Update: He says it was kept in a basement safe without a gun sock and the safe in question was known to leak.
