Might want to try a fixed power like SWFA SS scope that will hold up well. Then you avoid the FFP price tag and get glass that is better.

These come in fixed 10, 16, & 20 power. However for hunting anything over 10x makes the 75 yard or less shots a bit "furry". Then again a nice pistol can take care of the closer in shots. "Honey this scope works perfect for the range and it plus a pistol still costs less than a Vortex PST or NightForce scope"...that was my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

Just typing out loud.

You should never skimp on glass, especially if you intend to shoot 500 yards...

That said-- Millett, Mueller, and Weaver are your best low-cost bets. Weaver is more expensive than the other two, but a lot cheaper than their competition for FFP.

The SuperSniper scopes are worth considering too.

The BSAs I've seen have awful optics. (I have not seen that model; maybe it's different.)

I believe for the money you can find a decent scope, like Burris or a Nikon, and there are other brands. But I would pass on the BSA Scopes. I would rather have a $300 dollar scope and a $100 rifle than a 6 or 7 hundred dollar rifle and a $100 dollar scope. You sure can't hit something if you can't see it. Good Luck with which ever you choose...Ray
