I see so many bottles of scotch at duty free shops and I never buy any because I don't know the first thing about it. I do not care for a peaty flavor though.

I can’t stand peat either. Gives me heartburn like a mofo….

Try Scotch whisky from the Lowlands or Speyside. No peat (generally) on those. Dalwhinnie, Glenkinchie, or Glenlivet are good examples.

Blended Scotch also generally has little to no Peat. Ex. - Johnnie Walker Black

It is! My boss when working in construction gave it to me for a Christmas present but I don’t like scotch so it’s just sat in the cabinet. Had to have been like 1987 or 1988. Too bad it didn’t stay in the barrel!

Great boss you had. If you ever want to swap it for something holler.

I do but been trying to get a taste for bourbon. Not many choices of scotch under 60 a bottle I care for. Lot of good bourbon for that and less.
