I've had this knife for a little over 20 years. I bought it on eBay, believe it or not. I don't know what kind of steel it is or what kind of wood the handles are. They are fastened with mosaic pins, though. The top ones are a little hard to see due to use. The blade has some kind of wavey finish on it and the guy who made it signed his name in electric pencil on the blade. Nice jimping on the top spine. Makes feather sticks like you wouldn't believe. Blade has some use and rust marks. It was used. The sheath is crude and the fire steel not so beefy, but I carried this thing on the AT with me for months at a time when I was working in NC and it never let me down. A solid intro to scout carry and bushcrafting knives for either you or your little one. My daughter favors a different knife (my Schrade Old Timer, believe it or not), I'm trying to thin out the collection, so I figured I'd pay this one forward. 8.5" OAL, 3.5" blade.
