Mama used to say Lima/butter beans was the best food a person could eat.I do soup beans a ham hock,onions in the crock pot and cornbread.
I can smell it now.
Mayonnaise in them butterbeans is good too

My grandmothers fordhook Lima beans were the best. She wasn’t afraid to put the salt to them like my mother was. She would cook them about but not quite to the point of busting open & falling apart. I loved it when we had them with country ham. I’m licking my lips & my arteries are getting hard just thinking about it.
It wasn’t the same without the cracklin bread. Lace bread or fried cornbread was close.
