Buying a 5x8 trailer. how do I tag it?

I'm going to buy a trailer from a guy today. It's never been registered but guy has the title. How do I get a tag for it?

It's $500, so how does that factor into tag cost?

I've only pulled them, never had my own.

Get a BOS and go to your tag office. They take your $$$ and hand you a tag.

Go to your local tag office and apply for a license plate. Pay them, get your tag, go home and lock that baby down. They disappear for some reason.

MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE VIN # on the trailer AND it is on the bill of sale. If it is NOT, you'll have to get a form at tag office "homemade trailer form", have it inspected by police/sheriff and then go to tag office again. Same price, just a hassle.

Tags on trailers??? Hahaha we got not time for that.

Seriously I have 4 trailers and only one tag.

One home made 4x6 that I have a tag on, got a home made serial number from the DMV and pop riveted it on, I think the tag is $12.

I don't have tags on the 2 boat trailers, never went and did it and never get pulled over, at least in GA. The Airstream is going to need a tag a some point, but haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.

I'm no lawyer but that never stops me... I think you can just slap it on a fender (or anywhere) and say "tag you're it"
